Our relationship started within the working pillars of a midtown software company as common work friends. As is with most hard working New Yorkers, it was easy to hangout as colleagues after a long work day. What started as happy hour hangouts, evolved into weekend get togethers. With both of us removed from past relationships, the doors started to open for further interest beyond friendship (though Kris's groomsmen will tell you, he was looking for the key to open those doors before Pam had her locks repaired). A few years after we met, our relationship took a plunge into that all encompassing joy of romantic companionship. "I Likes" became "I Loves", and then to the signature moment we all cry, smile, and dream about. It was time to take the next step...
On February 5th, 2015, Kris surprised Pam with a Central Park carriage ride right as she exited work. It was something she always wanted to do but Kris thought it too touristy for local New Yorkers. Knowing the surprise might tip her off to his true intentions, Kris presented her with a watch at the end of the ride as a Fake Proposal to throw her off for the rest of the night.
With the expectations of a proposal now removed from Pam's suspicions, they went to a steak house in Astoria. Kris called S Prime earlier letting them know he might be proposing during dinner. As the two enjoyed their dinner, the staff eagerly waited for Kris to make his move. The manager made eye contact several times to approve of the big moment, however, it never came.
After leaving the restaurant, they continued on with their plans to pickup a car rental at LGA for the weekend. But Kris made a surprise pit stop at their favorite bar, Sweet Afton. Ensuring Pam he could get the car later, they enjoyed cocktails for a proper Thirsty Thursday. He later excused himself from the table to secretly find their server. This was the moment he was waiting for all night.
Kris asked their server if she would film his proposal and she excitedly agreed to play her part. He sat back down with Pam and took a few quick sips of his drink. The server came over and kindly accepted to take their picture. Kris interrupted their pose and got down on one knee to ask Pam the question that inspired this night's story. To his delight Pam was as surprised as ever. And on February 6th, 2015 at 1:37AM, she said Yes!
